A Wells Fargo employee in Tempe, Arizona, was found dead at her desk four days after she last clocked in for work, according to local authorities.

Denise Prudhomme, 60, was last seen entering the building early on August 16. Her body was found on August 20 at her third-floor desk by security personnel, who then contacted the police.

Firefighters arrived and pronounced Prudhomme dead at 4:55 p.m. The cause and manner of her death are still under investigation, with no immediate signs of foul play, according to the Tempe Police Department. The medical examiner’s office is currently working to determine the exact cause of death.

Employees were concerned after Prudhomme’s body was discovered, with some reporting a foul odor in the office that they initially attributed to plumbing issues. The majority of employees at this Wells Fargo location work remotely, and the building has 24-hour security.

Wells Fargo expressed deep sorrow over Prudhomme’s death, stating that they are in contact with her family to provide support during this difficult time. The company also mentioned that they are reviewing internal procedures following the incident and have made counseling services available to employees affected by the event.
