Harvey Weinstein Hospitalized After Suffering Medical Emergency

Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced former film mogul, has been hospitalized after experiencing a medical emergency, CNN reports, citing sources.

While details surrounding the nature of the emergency remain unclear, Weinstein’s current condition is unknown, the report says.

Weinstein, who is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for rape and sexual assault, has been incarcerated at the Wende Correctional Facility in western New York. It is unclear whether the medical emergency occurred at the prison or during transport to the hospital.

Weinstein was once a powerful figure in Hollywood but became embroiled in numerous allegations of sexual misconduct and assault. A trial in 2020 marked a watershed moment in the #MeToo movement, as it brought to light the systemic abuse of power and the long-silenced voices of victims who came forward to share their stories.
