Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the United States on a visit amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia, Al Jazeera reports.

Zelenskyy’s main objective is to present his “victory plan,” which is a peace proposal, to US President Joe Biden. He  plans to meet with Biden on Thursday, before later meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris.

He is also expected to meet with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, though no date has been officially announced.

Details of Ukraine’s peace plan remain unclear. Zelenskyy confirmed that Biden would be the first world leader to see the “full” plan, which would be then shared with other partner nations. The plan is expected to be finalized by early November, Zelenskyy added.

He ha been pushing the US and its allies to authorize Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons to strike military targets deep inside Russia, a request met with controversy in the US administration, while Russia warned that such autorization would equate to a declaration of war by NATO.
