The crash occurred around 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday October 9, as reported in a release by the WHP on Thursday. A 2017 Freightliner hauling frack sand had made a left turn off Cole Creek Road to head eastbound on Highway 20-26. Simultaneously, a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on US 20-26 and collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer.

The rider, identified as Michael Everhart, a 54-year-old male from Glenrock, Wyoming, tragically lost his life in the incident.

The driver of the commercial vehicle involved is from Greeley, Colorado, according to the release.

Investigation into the crash is ongoing, with speed cited as a potential contributing factor. The Wyoming Highway Patrol continues to gather information to determine the exact circumstances leading to the collision.
