General Motors has unveiled updates to its flagship full-size SUVs, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, aiming to solidify its leadership in the competitive segment.

The refreshed 2025 models come as Chevrolet seeks to defend its market position amid rising competition from rivals like Ford, Jeep, and Nissan.

Chevrolet’s Tahoe and Suburban have been segment leaders for over 45 years. However, GM’s share of the full-size SUV market has decreased from more than 70% following the 2020 redesign to 64% today, partly due to increased competition. Chevrolet’s retail market share stands at 34.2%, while adding GMC’s Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs brings GM’s total to 64%.

The updates to the 2025 Tahoe and Suburban focus on new styling, larger interior screens, enhanced performance, and the inclusion of GM’s hands-free Super Cruise advanced driver-assistance system. These changes aim to appeal to customers and maintain profitability in an increasingly competitive market. Prices for the new models range from approximately $60,000 to over $86,000, depending on the model and trim level.

Chevrolet Vice President Scott Bell emphasized the importance of these vehicles to the brand’s profitability.

“We certainly have a response for our competitors from multiple segments,” Bell stated at a media event.

The 2025 Tahoe and Suburban are set to arrive at US dealerships in the coming weeks.
