Early Morning Shooting in Casper Leaves One Injured, Investigation Underway

A shooting in Casper early Saturday morning left one person injured, prompting an ongoing investigation by local authorities.

Casper Police responded to reports of gunfire around 2:30 a.m. on the 300 block of North Grant Street.

Initially, officers found the area quiet and undisturbed, but later that morning, a shooting victim arrived at Banner Wyoming Medical Center. Witnesses confirmed the incident occurred on North Grant Street around the same time as the initial report, according to Casper Police Department spokesperson Amber Freestone.

Preliminary investigations suggest the shooting resulted from an altercation between individuals who were acquainted. The victim is currently in serious but stable condition, and police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
