Investigation Underway After Juvenile Shooting in Casper

A juvenile was critically injured in a shooting incident in east-central Casper early Saturday morning, as reported by the Casper Police Department on Monday.

Emergency responders were called to the 3200 block of Hamilton Way around 12:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a chaotic scene involving several juveniles and young adults. One juvenile was found with a serious gunshot wound, which authorities described as life-threatening. First responders provided immediate aid, and the victim was transported to Banner-Wyoming Medical Center, where they are currently in serious but stable condition.

The investigation has made progress, as officers were able to identify, locate, and interview the juvenile suspect involved in the incident. Evidence has been collected from the scene, and investigators are in the process of interviewing witnesses and attendees from the gathering where the shooting occurred.

As the investigation continues, the Casper Police Department emphasized that information regarding juveniles is confidential under Wyoming state law and the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act. Therefore, no additional details about the incident will be released at this time.
