The University of Wyoming men’s cross-country team has climbed to 20th place in the National Coaches’ Poll, marking their first appearance in the top 20 since 2019.

This ranking follows a strong performance at the pre-national meet, where the Cowboys finished 12th, outperforming eight ranked teams. Their showing earned them 109 points, pushing them up from the previous week’s position.

In addition to their national success, the Cowboys secured a fifth-place ranking in the Week 4 Mountain Region Poll, their best regional position since 2019. The women’s team, the Cowgirls, also performed well, ranking ninth in the Mountain Region after finishing 32nd at pre-nationals, surpassing then-No. 22 Ole Miss.

Other Mountain West men’s teams ranked nationally include No. 6 New Mexico and No. 19 Utah State, demonstrating the strength of the conference this season.
