Two people died following a head-on collision on Wyoming Highway 59 near Douglas on Saturday, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
A preliminary report indicates that a Chevy Equinox, driven by 65-year-old Timothy Hurst of Nebraska, was traveling southbound when it crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup. The driver of the Dodge Ram, 23-year-old Dawson McCuin from Arizona, was also killed in the crash.
The incident occurred near milepost 31, and weather conditions at the time were clear and dry. Speed is considered a possible contributing factor to the crash.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol’s report is still preliminary and subject to change as further investigation takes place.
