Wyoming’s Allyson Fertig Named Mountain West Player of the Week

University of Wyoming senior center Allyson Fertig has been named the Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season, marking the fifth time in her career that she has earned the honor.

Fertig had an impressive performance over the past week, averaging 24.5 points, 12 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game as the Cowgirls posted a 1-1 record, with a victory over Air Force and a loss to Colorado State. She shot an impressive 59.5% from the field, making 22 of 37 attempts.

In the loss to Colorado State, Fertig scored a career-high 34 points, which is the fifth-highest single-game total in Cowgirls’ history. She also grabbed 15 rebounds in that game.

In Wyoming’s win over Air Force, Fertig contributed 15 points, nine rebounds, and five blocks.
