85-Year-Old Wyoming Woman Fatally Struck While Crossing Street in Hot Springs County

An 85-year-old Wyoming resident, Bernadine Blacketer, lost her life on January 24 after being struck by an SUV while crossing the street in Hot Springs County.

The incident occurred near 729 Arapahoe, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP). An eastbound GMC Yukon collided with Blacketer as she attempted to cross the roadway.

WHP officials noted that road conditions were slick and icy at the time, which may have contributed to the accident. However, they also cited driver inattention as a potential factor in the tragic incident.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. No additional details have been released.
