Stellantis, one of the world’s leading automakers, announced a strategic reorganization on Monday to simplify its internal structure and accelerate decision-making processes, Reuters reports.

The move comes as the company continues its search for a permanent CEO following the departure of Carlos Tavares in December.

Under the new organizational framework, the automaker has consolidated its software and engineering divisions under Ned Curic, who now serves as Chief Engineering and Technology Officer. This integration aims to foster innovation and streamline technological advancements.

Additionally, Stellantis has granted increased authority to regional heads in product planning, development, and industrial and commercial activities. The change is designed to enhance local responsiveness and execution capabilities.

“Today’s announcements will further simplify our organization and increase our local agility and rigour of execution,” said Chairman John Elkann, who is temporarily overseeing the company’s operations while the CEO search continues.

As part of the restructuring, Stellantis made several key management appointments. Antonio Filosa, currently head of North American operations and a potential contender for the CEO position, has taken on the additional role of Global Chief for Quality. Bob Broderdorf will assume Filosa’s previous role as head of the Jeep brand.

In Europe, Alain Favey was appointed as the new head of the Peugeot brand, signaling the company’s commitment to strengthening its position in the region.
