The University of Wyoming’s Swimming and Diving teams have been recognized by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with the prestigious Scholar All-America award for the Fall 2024 semester, News Letter Journal reports.

The Cowgirls posted an impressive team grade point average (GPA) of 3.49, while the Cowboys recorded a GPA of 3.17. To be considered for the Scholar All-America distinction, teams were required to achieve a GPA above 3.0 during the semester.

A total of 654 teams from across the nation earned the award for achieving a GPA of 3.30 or higher, contributing to the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition’s All-Sport Academic Standings.

Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA, praised the achievements of the Wyoming teams, highlighting their balance of academic and athletic success.

“This recognition honors programs that achieve the highest standards in the classroom while representing their institution in the pool,” Barany said. “Coach Dave Denniston, their staff, and the entire team have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to success both academically and athletically, setting a standard of excellence we can all be proud of.”
