The Sheridan City Council approved the second reading of an ordinance to rezone property owned by Wyoming Downs at 927 Coffeen Avenue during its recent business meeting.

The proposed change would reclassify the property from B-1 (Business) to M-1 (Industrial), allowing gambling operations on the premises.

City Planner Kelly Schroeder explained that Wyoming Downs pursued the rezoning to facilitate the expansion of its business activities. The ordinance requires a third and final reading by the City Council before it can be enacted.

The Council also approved a resolution adopting the Sheridan Fire-Rescue Long Range Master Plan and granted final acceptance of public infrastructure for the Teal Springs Subdivision.

Further updates and details from the Council meeting are expected in future reports.
