The Wyoming State Historical Society is now accepting nominations for its 2025 awards program, recognizing individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to preserving and interpreting Wyoming’s history in 2024, Sheridan Media reports.

Nominations are open through April 30, 2025, and can be submitted by county chapters, individuals, and Society members. The awards span seven main categories, including:

  • Publication Awards
  • Social Media, Podcast, Audio, and Video Awards
  • Fine Arts Award
  • Youth Awards (Grades 3-12, Collegiate)
  • Special Awards, including Outstanding Wyoming Teacher of the Year
  • Memorial Awards
  • Preservation Awards

Nominees may include students, educators, historians, authors, and preservationists, as well as creators of podcasts, websites, or social media content dedicated to Wyoming history.

“We look forward to our annual Wyoming State Historical Society Awards so that we can spotlight the efforts of those individuals or organizations who went out of their way in 2024 to promote Wyoming’s legacy,” said Beki Speas, chair of the Society’s Awards Program.

The 2025 Awards Manual, which details nomination requirements, is available online at www.wyshs.org under Programs/Awards. Copies can also be requested via email from Beki Speas at [email protected].

Submissions can be sent via email or mail, depending on the category. Books, writings, and physical projects must be submitted as hard copies, while digital media, preservation, and memorial award nominations can be sent electronically.

Self-nominations are encouraged, and the Society hopes to recognize outstanding contributions from across the state.
