The Trump administration has recently limited access for The Associated Press (AP) to several White House events, citing concerns over the news organization’s reporting practices, Al Jazeera reports.

The AP reported that one of its reporters was prevented from attending President Trump’s press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. This followed similar restrictions at an executive order signing ceremony on Tuesday and the swearing-in of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Wednesday.

The White House’s actions come after a disagreement over the name of the Gulf of Mexico. President Trump issued an executive order last month to officially rename the body of water the “Gulf of America.” However, the AP has continued to use the original name, arguing that the change is not applicable outside of US jurisdiction.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated on Wednesday that the administration intends to hold media outlets responsible for what it considers to be inaccurate reporting.
