The Wyoming Cowboys overcame a 12-point first-half deficit with a dominant second-half performance to secure a 69-62 victory over the Air Force Falcons on Tuesday night.
A crucial 19-2 run in the second half propelled the Cowboys (12-15, 5-11 Mountain West Conference) to snap a five-game losing streak.
Wyoming guard Obi Agbim led all scorers with 22 points, shooting 7-of-13 from the field, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. Forward Cole Henry contributed a career-high 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Dontaie Allen added 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting.
The Falcons (3-23, 0-15) were led by Wesley Celichowski, who matched Henry’s 16 points. Kyle Marshall and Beau Becker each added 10 points, with Marshall also securing seven rebounds. Despite their efforts, Air Force extended its losing streak to 16 games.
Trailing 38-28 at halftime, Wyoming came out strong in the second half. The Cowboys held the Falcons scoreless for the first four minutes, cutting the lead to four. A dunk by Henry and back-to-back baskets from Agbim sparked momentum. Wyoming then went on an 8-0 run, tying the game at 46-46 with just over 11 minutes left.
Moments later, a three-pointer from Matija Belic gave the Cowboys their first lead at 49-48. Agbim followed with another deep shot, and Henry’s inside presence fueled a decisive 19-2 run, giving Wyoming a 57-48 advantage with under eight minutes remaining.
Air Force fought back, cutting the deficit to 60-57 with just over four minutes left. A Becker three-pointer tied the game at 62-62 with 2:41 remaining, but Wyoming responded immediately. Agbim drained a clutch three-pointer, followed by key free throws from Agbim and A.J. Wills to seal the 69-62 victory.
Wyoming held a dominant 40-27 advantage on the boards, including 12 offensive rebounds leading to 19 second-chance points. The Cowboys shot 46.3% from the field, improving to 60.9% in the second half.
