Wyoming High School Athletes Compete at Simplot Games This Weekend

As Week 6 of the Wyoming high school indoor track season unfolds, student-athletes from across the state are either competing at a prestigious national meet or taking a break from competition, My Country 95.5 reports.

The 45th Simplot Games, held at the ICCU Dome at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, will bring together top track and field competitors from across the country from February 20-22, 2025.

The Simplot Games allow high school athletes to enter one open running event, two relay events, and two field events. Athletes who wish to compete in a second open running event must meet qualifying standards and receive a waiver. Twenty-six Wyoming schools have student-athletes participating in this year’s event.

Simplot Games Schedule: February 20-22

Thursday, February 20:

  • Track Events begin at 4:30 p.m.
  • Field Events start at 5:00 p.m.
  • Finals for Girls & Boys Weight Throw

Friday, February 21:

  • Track Events start at 8:35 a.m.
  • Field Events begin at 9:00 a.m.
  • No finals; only preliminary and qualifying events

Saturday, February 22:

  • Field Events start at 8:30 a.m.
  • Track Events begin at 8:45 a.m.
  • Event Finals all day

Student-athletes from the following 26 Wyoming schools are competing in this year’s meet:

Big Horn, Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cody, Douglas, Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Lusk, Mountain View, Natrona County, Pinedale, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Star Valley, Thunder Basin, Tongue River, Torrington, Wheatland, Worland.
