A tragic crash near Green River on February 19, 2025, has resulted in two fatalities and one injury.

The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Wyoming 372 and Wyoming 374, at mile marker 83, just south of the Interstate-80 interchange. The Wyoming Highway Patrol is actively investigating the cause of the crash.

The collision involved a southbound 2011 Honda Odyssey and a westbound 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer combination unit. The Volvo failed to navigate a sharp left curve on Wyoming Highway 374, colliding broadside with the driver’s side of the Honda.

The Honda’s driver, Jeffrey Wilson, 47, and rear passenger, Kathrine Franklin, 32, both of Green River, tragically lost their lives in the crash. The third occupant of the Honda was transported to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County for treatment of their injuries. The driver of the Volvo did not report any apparent injuries.

At this time, charges are pending as the investigation into the accident continues. The crash was unrelated to the ongoing incident at the I-80 tunnel, which occurred elsewhere in the area. The Wyoming Highway Patrol has yet to release further details as they continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
