Starbucks is making changes to its menu, retiring 13 drinks, including several well-known Frappuccinos, in an effort to simplify operations and improve service, Business Insider reports.

The decision, announced by the company, is aimed at reducing wait times, enhancing consistency, and realigning with Starbucks’ identity as a coffee-focused brand.

Among the beverages set to be discontinued are:

  • Iced Matcha Lemonade
  • Espresso Frappuccino
  • Caffè Vanilla Frappuccino
  • White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino
  • Java Chip Frappuccino
  • Chai Crème Frappuccino
  • Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino
  • Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino
  • Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino
  • White Chocolate Crème Frappuccino
  • White Hot Chocolate
  • Royal English Breakfast Latte
  • Honey Almondmilk Flat White

While some customers may be disappointed to see their favorites go, Starbucks believes these changes will lead to a better overall experience.

A Starbucks representative explained that the menu adjustments will “make way for innovation, help reduce wait times, improve quality and consistency, and align with our core identity as a coffee company.”

The move also reflects a broader strategy under Starbucks’ new CEO, Brian Niccol, who has expressed a desire to shift the company’s focus back to its origins—a welcoming café experience—rather than the highly customized, social media-driven drinks that have gained popularity in recent years.

Many of the retired drinks were complex, requiring additional preparation time and specialized ingredients, which could slow down service. By simplifying the menu, Starbucks aims to improve efficiency and maintain quality across its offerings.

While these drinks will soon be unavailable, Starbucks has assured customers that menu innovation will continue, suggesting new items may replace some of the outgoing options. The company remains committed to offering a mix of classic coffee beverages and seasonal specialty drinks, while balancing customer demand with operational efficiency.
