The United States has reportedly suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine, potentially impacting the Ukrainian military’s ability to target Russian forces, as per Al Jazeera.

This development follows the US suspension of military aid to Ukraine, a consequence of strained relations between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

Since the beginning of the conflict in 2022, the US has provided Ukraine with substantial intelligence support, including information crucial for military targeting.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirmed the “pause” in support during an interview with Fox Business broadcast on Wednesday.

“I think on the military front and the intelligence front, the pause… I think will go away,” Ratcliffe stated. He added, “I think we’ll work shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine as we have to push back on the aggression that’s there, but to put the world in a better place for these peace negotiations to move forward.”

Relations between the US and Ukraine deteriorated significantly last week following a reported clash between Zelensky and Trump at the White House.

Trump stated on Tuesday that he received a letter from Zelensky expressing a willingness to engage in negotiations to resolve the conflict with Russia. Zelensky said in the letter that he was “ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer.”

On Wednesday, White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz indicated that President Trump would consider reinstating aid to Ukraine if negotiations aimed at ending the conflict were arranged.
