Country artist Ian Munsick is set to achieve a career milestone as the first Wyoming native to headline Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD), Pollstar reports.

The highly anticipated performance will take place on July 18, 2025, at the 129th annual event, which runs from July 18-27 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Munsick, who grew up in Wyoming balancing cattle work by day and music by night, has long considered CFD the pinnacle of country music performance opportunities. Known as the “Daddy of ‘Em All,” the event is one of the nation’s largest and most historic outdoor rodeo and western celebrations.

“The zenith of my musical ambition has always been to headline Cheyenne Frontier Days,” said Munsick. “No event symbolizes Wyoming or the West better than the Daddy of ‘Em All.”

Munsick previously performed at CFD as a support act in 2022, but this year marks his first time leading the event’s Frontier Nights concert series. His rise to headliner status reflects his growing influence in country and western music.

“Since day one, Cheyenne Frontier Days has always been our goal,” said Lance Roberts, Munsick’s agent at WME. “Ian has worked hard, taken the necessary steps, and fostered relationships with the right partners. He deserves this moment, and I look forward to celebrating this night in Cheyenne.”

Munsick’s path to this moment started in Laramie, Wyoming, at a sold-out 2019 college bar show. Back then, his touring team consisted of just three people: himself, a fiddle player, and his wife Caroline Munsick, who handled tour management and merchandise sales. Today, his operation includes 16 people, a packed semi-truck, and two buses.

Momentum for his CFD performance gained national attention after his sold-out debut at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. Fans quickly launched a Facebook petition campaign, urging CFD organizers to make Munsick a headliner. The campaign caught the attention of Cowboy State Daily, which published a feature on his growing grassroots movement.

“The amount of support this community has given me since day one is nothing short of humbling,” said Munsick. “Growing up on a ranch in northern Wyoming, the kind of country music on the radio never really reflected our scenery and lifestyle. I promised myself I’d stay true to my roots and bring the West to the rest. Headlining CFD makes me feel like I’ve finally achieved that mission.”

Munsick has continued to build his career with major milestones, including:

  • Releasing his 18-track album White Buffalo in 2023
  • Expanding it into White Buffalo: Introduce You to God and a companion documentary in 2024
  • Being adopted by the Crow Tribe at his Red Rocks debut for his work on White Buffalo, which explored the relationship between ranchers, cowboys, and Native American tribes
  • Selling 100,000 headline tickets in 2024 and launching his 2025 Horses Are Faster Tour
  • Supporting major artists like Lainey Wilson and Morgan Wallen on tour

His third studio album, Eagle Feather, is set for release on April 18, 2025, featuring 20 tracks and collaborations with Lainey Wilson and Cleto Cordero.

Caroline Munsick, now his manager and founder of Not a Public Figure Management, credits his loyal fan base for his rapid rise.

“Ian has had multiple sold-out headline tours, including arenas across the West and Midwest. He has sold out Red Rocks, the Ryman in Nashville, and now he’s about to sell out Cheyenne Frontier Days.”

Alongside Munsick, the 2025 CFD concert lineup includes:
