Eurostar services to and from Paris’ Gare du Nord station were completely suspended Friday morning after the discovery of an unexploded World War II-era bomb during track repairs in Saint-Denis, north of Paris, Bloomberg reports.
The international train operator announced the disruption in a statement, explaining that traffic would remain halted until specialized mine clearance operations could be completed. Commuter train services through Gare du Nord have also been affected by the suspension.
“Due to the discovery last night of an unexploded bomb from the Second World War during work carried out on the tracks in Saint-Denis, north of Paris, traffic has been completely halted to and from Gare du Nord station,” the Eurostar statement read.
While services to Paris remain suspended, Eurostar confirmed that Brussels-Marne La Vallée, London-Brussels, and London-Amsterdam trains are running normally. However, the Eurostar website indicates that all trains to London have been canceled until at least 12 p.m. Paris time.
