A small earthquake measuring 2.6 in magnitude struck near Lucerne, Wyoming, on Saturday, March 8, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The tremor occurred 18 km east-southeast of Lucerne at a depth of 5.4 km, with the event recorded at approximately 16:20 UTC.

Despite the earthquake, no damage, injuries, or reports of it being felt by residents have been recorded. The USGS notes that while Wyoming does not experience frequent seismic activity, minor quakes occasionally occur in the region.

Although a magnitude 2.6 earthquake is unlikely to cause significant impact, authorities encourage residents to stay informed about seismic activity and report any unusual ground movement. The USGS continues to monitor the area for any further seismic developments.
