The State Alpine Skiing Championships concluded with strong performances from athletes across the state, Casper Star-Tribune reports.
In the girls’ competition, Jackson took first place in the team standings with 160 points, followed by Cody with 72 points, and Pinedale with 39 points. Natrona County, Kelly Walsh, and Laramie rounded out the team rankings with 33, 25, and 13 points, respectively.
In the Giant Slalom event, Jackson’s Dylan Witherite finished first with a time of 1:34.08, narrowly edging out teammate Lily Steinberg, who clocked in at 1:34.11. Other top finishers included Callie Owens (1:36.03) and Neve Pruzan (1:36.36), both from Jackson. Natrona County’s MK Lacko (1:42.09) and Cody’s Maya Davis (1:42.19) also posted strong times.
For the Slalom event, Witherite again led the way, finishing first with a time of 1:18.75. Jackson’s Annie Moll (1:21.47) and Madeline Ryan (1:22.36) followed in second and third, respectively. Other notable performances came from Callie Owens (1:23.72) and Neve Pruzan (1:24.16), both from Jackson. Cody’s Mia Broussard (1:31.05) and Natalie Wenke (1:31.28) rounded out the top competitors.
In the boys’ competition, Jackson also led the team standings with 131 points. Pinedale finished second with 83 points, while Natrona County and Laramie both earned 43 points. Kelly Walsh and Cody completed the team rankings with 24 and 18 points, respectively.
In the boys’ Giant Slalom, Jackson’s Nico Tozzi took the top spot with a time of 1:27.65. His teammates Lucas Goewert (1:30.09) and Teddy Peightal (1:32.65) finished second and third. Pinedale’s Tristan Robertson (1:35.73) and Cody’s Garrett Saunders (1:38.99) also posted competitive times.
Tozzi again proved his dominance in the Slalom event, securing first place with a time of 1:12.22. Teddy Peightal (1:19.07) and Lucas Milligan (1:19.94) from Jackson finished in second and third, while Pinedale’s James Tolson (1:21.51) and Dune Mecartney (1:24.88) also posted solid performances.
