The final weekend of the 2025 Wyoming high school basketball season is fast approaching, with the Class 3A and 4A girls’ state tournaments scheduled to take place in Casper, WyoPreps reports.

Over the course of three days, teams will compete for their respective division titles at the Ford Wyoming Center and Casper College, with championship games set for Saturday, March 15.

Both defending champions, the Douglas Bearcats in Class 3A and the Sheridan Broncs in Class 4A, have secured spots in the tournament, giving them the opportunity to defend their titles. Douglas has been particularly dominant in recent years, having won six consecutive championships.

The 3A competition will begin on Thursday, March 13, with all first-round games at the Ford Wyoming Center. The tournament will then shift to Casper College on Friday for elimination and semifinal matchups, before returning to the Ford Wyoming Center for the championship game on Saturday afternoon.

For the 4A tournament, first-round games will be held at Casper College on Thursday, followed by semifinal games at the Ford Wyoming Center on Friday. All trophy games, including the championship, will take place at the Ford Wyoming Center on Saturday evening.

In 3A, top-seeded Douglas will face Powell in the first round as they look to extend their championship streak. Other notable matchups include Cody vs. Buffalo and Pinedale vs. Wheatland.

The 4A tournament features a compelling first-round game between defending champion Sheridan and Natrona County. Another key matchup is between Cheyenne East, the No. 1 seed from the East, and Kelly Walsh.
