The Cody Broncs and Fillies continued their dominance at the Wyoming High School Indoor Track State Championships, securing both Class 3A team titles for the third straight year, WyoPreps reports.
The state meet, held last Thursday and Friday in Gillette, featured 12 class records being either broken or tied.
The Cody boys’ team, led by sophomore Kyler Stinson, secured seven individual victories, finishing with 154.5 team points—a commanding 89.5-point margin over runner-up Buffalo (65 points). Worland (60 points) and Mountain View (59.5 points) rounded out the top four.
Stinson was the standout performer, winning three state championships and setting two new records:
- 55-meter dash champion
- 200-meter champion – New class record: 22.39 seconds
- 400-meter champion – New class record: 50.23 seconds
Stinson also contributed to the 4×400-meter relay team, which set another class record with a time of 3:30.55.
Other Cody athletes also made history:
- Kyler Winters won the pole vault at 14-3.50 (new class record)
- Jarom Beardall claimed victory in the long jump at 21-10.25 and was also part of the record-setting 4×400 relay team
Beyond Cody’s achievements, other 3A boys’ records fell at the state meet:
- Buffalo’s 4×800 relay team set a new class record (8:18.55)
- Derek Hagler (Mountain View) set a new shot put record (56-0.50)
The Cody girls’ team secured their own state title with 118.5 points, holding off Torrington (81 points), Worland (66.5 points), and Buffalo (63.5 points).
The Fillies’ key victories included:
- Isabelle Paddock – Pole vault champion (New class record: 11-0.50)
- Allison Gee – High jump champion, tying a class record at 5-2 with Douglas’ Skyleigh Smith
- Cody’s Sprint Medley relay team – First-place finish
Pinedale senior Madison Antonino also had an impressive meet, winning three distance events:
- 800 meters – 2:25.89
- 1600 meters – 5:22.07
- 3200 meters – New class record: 11:18.40 (winning by 27 seconds)
Additionally, the Torrington girls’ 4×200 relay team set a new 3A record at 1:47.59.
