The 2025 Wyoming High School Class 3A and 4A Boys Basketball Championships are reaching their thrilling conclusion this weekend in Casper.

Over three days of competition, teams from across the state will battle for the coveted state titles. The tournament, held at the Ford Wyoming Center (FWC) and Casper College (CC), will see two teams crowned champions on Saturday, March 15.

In Class 3A, defending champion Powell has a chance to repeat, while Class 4A is guaranteed a new champion this year.

The 3A tournament kicked off with intense matchups on Thursday, March 13. Cody, Torrington, Wheatland, and Lovell advanced past the first round, setting the stage for Friday’s semifinals. Powell, last year’s champion, fell to Wheatland, ending its hopes for back-to-back titles.

Friday’s games will determine who competes for the championship on Saturday at the Ford Wyoming Center. Consolation and third-place games will take place at Casper College before the title matchup.

Laramie’s 66-55 victory over Natrona County was powered by standout performances from Max Alexander, who scored a season-high 22 points, and Gabe Sanchez, who returned from injury to add 14. The Plainsmen will now face Thunder Basin, which advanced with a 46-31 win over Evanston.

On the other side of the bracket, Campbell County’s Lane Hladky led a comeback against Kelly Walsh, scoring 14 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Sheridan held off a late rally from Star Valley to secure a 55-47 victory.
