Two key members of the University of Wyoming football team, running back Harrison Waylee and defensive end Sabastian Harsh, have announced their decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal as graduate transfers, Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports.

Waylee, an All-Mountain West honorable mention in 2023, transferred to Wyoming from Northern Illinois and had a standout first season with the Cowboys. He rushed for 947 yards and five touchdowns in 10 games, averaging 94.7 yards per game and 5.8 yards per carry.

His performances included 100-yard rushing games against Appalachian State, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado State. He also contributed 12 receptions for 66 yards out of the backfield.

However, Waylee’s 2024 season was cut short due to a knee injury suffered during fall camp. He returned to action in November but played in just four games, finishing with 323 yards and one touchdown on 63 carries.

In his announcement, Waylee expressed gratitude for his time in Laramie and thanked the coaching staff and teammates.

Harsh spent five seasons with the Cowboys, battling injuries throughout his career. He missed the entire 2022 season due to a broken knee cap but bounced back in 2023 with a career-high 40 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Over his career at Wyoming, Harsh totaled 97 tackles and 4.5 sacks. In his social media post, he thanked Wyoming for the support over the years and announced he will use his final year of eligibility elsewhere.

With Waylee’s departure, Wyoming still has several running backs on its roster, including Sam Scott, Nico Hamilton, Dontae Burch, and Terron Kellman. Scott led the team in rushing last season with 435 yards and three touchdowns.

Additionally, Wyoming will welcome three incoming freshmen at the position:

  • Patrick Broadway II (Houston, TX)
  • Samuel Harris (Cibolo, TX)
  • Jaden Lawrence (Parker, CO)
