President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning against individuals vandalizing Tesla vehicles and charging stations, emphasizing severe legal consequences for those involved, New York Post reports.
His statement follows the recent arrests of three suspects accused of targeting Tesla properties in Colorado, Oregon, and South Carolina.
Posting on TruthSocial late Thursday, Trump declared that those caught “sabotaging Teslas” could face up to 20 years in prison, including those who provide financial support for such acts.
“WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!!!” he wrote.
His comments came after Attorney General Pam Bondi announced charges against three individuals accused of arson, vandalism, and firearm-related offenses at Tesla dealerships and charging stations across multiple states.
The suspects—Adam Matthew Lansky (41) of Oregon, Lucy Grace Nelson (40) of Colorado, and Daniel Clarke-Pounder (24) of South Carolina—face charges that could result in up to two decades in prison if convicted.
- Lansky was arrested in Salem, Oregon, after allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails at parked Teslas, returning later with an AR-15 rifle and shooting at a dealership.
- Nelson allegedly spray-painted anti-Tesla messages on cars at a Loveland, Colorado dealership before attempting to set them on fire.
- Clarke-Pounder was caught vandalizing Tesla vehicles at a Charleston, South Carolina charging station, writing anti-Trump rhetoric before igniting them.
Though Bondi labeled these incidents as “domestic terrorism,” officials clarified that they do not meet the legal definition of such.
In addition to these cases, Las Vegas authorities are investigating an arson attack in which multiple Tesla vehicles were set on fire, one of which exploded due to a lithium battery ignition. The vandal reportedly spray-painted “RESIST” in large letters on a nearby Tesla service center.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has publicly condemned the attacks, expressing concern over what he describes as “hatred and violence” from political opponents.
“It really comes as quite a shock to me that there was this level of hatred and violence from the left,” Musk told Fox News.
Trump, who recently displayed a red Tesla outside the White House, has vowed to take action, stating:
“I’m going to stop them. We’re going to catch them, they’re bad guys.”
