Senior thrower Daniel Reynolds has been named the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Field Athlete of the Year by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA),  WyoToday reports.

The announcement came Monday, marking a historic achievement for both Reynolds and the Mountain West Conference.

Reynolds secured the prestigious honor after an undefeated season, highlighted by a record-setting performance at the NCAA Indoor Championships, where he won the weight throw title with a meet record throw of 25.08 meters. His dominance continued throughout the season, as he also swept the throwing events at the Mountain West Indoor Championships and tied for No. 2 All-Time in collegiate weight throw history.

Reynolds is the first-ever Mountain West athlete to receive the National Field Athlete of the Year award, which has been presented annually since 2006. The honor has a strong legacy, with four previous winners later earning The Bowerman, the highest individual award in collegiate track and field.

With his remarkable performances, Reynolds has cemented his place among the best collegiate throwers in history, bringing national recognition to both the University of Wyoming and the Mountain West Conference.
