Gillette Contractor Secures $3.25M for Wyoming Bridge Rehabilitation

The Wyoming Transportation Commission has awarded S & S Builders LLC, a Gillette-based contractor, a $3.25 million contract for a bridge rehabilitation project spanning Big Horn, Fremont, and Park counties, County 17 reports.

The project, which includes structure work, traffic control, asphalt paving, seeding, erosion control, guardrail installation, grading, milling, and aggregate surfacing, is expected to be completed by November 30, 2025. The funding for this project comes primarily from federal sources.

During its March 20 meeting, the commission approved a total of $21.49 million in contracts for eight construction projects under the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT).

Other Major Awards:

  • Avail Valley Construction-WY LLC (Afton): $2.81 million for a mill and overlay project on 7.3 miles of Wyoming Highway 51 between Gillette and Moorcroft (Campbell County). State-funded. Completion: Oct. 31, 2025.

  • Acme Concrete Paving Inc. (Washington): $3.59 million for concrete slab replacement on 3.5 miles of Interstate 80 between Granger and Green River (Sweetwater County). Completion: Oct. 31, 2025.

  • Simon Contractors (Cheyenne): $889,190 for a left-turn lane project at two locations on US Highway 287 and Wyoming Highway 130 (Albany County). Completion: Sept. 30, 2025.

  • S & L Industrial (Cowley): $807,466 for a rumble strip project at various locations statewide. Completion: Oct. 31, 2025.

State-Funded Projects:

  • Reiman Corp. (Cheyenne): $4.82 million for bridge rehabilitation in Lincoln, Sublette, and Teton counties. Completion: June 30, 2025.

  • Reiman Corp. (Cheyenne): $2.1 million for slab repair in Laramie County. Completion: Oct. 31, 2025.

  • Bituminous Paving Inc. (Minnesota): Chip seal project covering 54.1 miles in Albany, Carbon, and Laramie counties. Completion: Aug. 31, 2025.
