The UK government is engaged in “intensive discussions” with the US administration in an effort to avoid being impacted by planned tariff increases implemented by President Donald Trump, Bloomberg reports, citing Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves.
Reeves stated that the UK is working diligently to protect its trade relationship with the US.
“We are now in intensive discussions with the US administration ahead of the increase in tariffs next week,” she said. “We want to make sure that those trade flows between the UK and US continue to be strong.”
