Walgreens, one of the largest pharmacy chains in the US, has announced plans to close approximately 500 stores during its 2025 fiscal year, which ends in August, KGAB AM 650 reports.
This closure plan affects a small portion of the company’s total 8,200 stores across the nation. However, for residents of Wyoming, there is no need for concern regarding the closure of any local Walgreens locations.
According to a list published by globalbankingrates.com, which was compiled using data from usearch.com, none of Wyoming’s Walgreens stores are included in the closure list.
While no Wyoming stores are affected, Walgreens customers in neighboring Colorado may see a different outcome. A total of 14 Walgreens locations across the state, including several in Denver, Longmont, and Aurora, are scheduled to close.
Walgreens has stated that the closures are aimed at underperforming stores, though the company has not specified the exact criteria for determining which locations will shut down.
For now, Wyoming residents can continue shopping at their local Walgreens, as no closures have been announced for the state.
