A fire broke out at a Tesla Inc. electric vehicle dealership in Rome, Italy, resulting in damage to 17 vehicles, according to local fire services, as per Bloomberg.
The fire partially affected the structure where the vehicles were parked, the fire brigade reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Police officers are at the scene assisting the fire department.
The incident follows a recent string of vandalism acts targeting Tesla cars, dealerships, and charging ports. These acts are believed to be a backlash against Tesla CEO Elon Musk due to his association with and support for initiatives led by President Donald Trump, deemed by his critics as controversial.
Musk serves as a senior advisor to President Trump, leading initiatives such as the Department of Government Efficiency, which focuses on cost-cutting measures.
