As the high school softball season progresses in Wyoming, quadrant play has begun for some teams, setting the stage for competitive matchups, Sheridan Media reports.

With teams vying for strong starts in their regional standings, several games last week had a significant impact on the rankings.

Current Standings

Northeast Quadrant

  • Thunder Basin: 2-0 (Quadrant), 8-0 (Overall)

  • Sheridan: 1-1 (Quadrant), 2-5-1 (Overall)

  • Campbell County: 1-1 (Quadrant), 6-2 (Overall)

  • Worland: 0-2 (Quadrant), 0-8 (Overall)

Northwest Quadrant

  • Kelly Walsh: 2-2

  • Natrona County: 2-2

  • Cody: 0-4

  • Jackson: 0-4

Southeast Quadrant

  • Cheyenne East: 6-0

  • Wheatland: 6-1

  • Cheyenne Central: 5-1

  • Torrington: 4-4

Southwest Quadrant

  • Laramie: 5-3

  • Green River: 2-5

  • Rock Springs: 1-4-1

  • Cheyenne South: 1-6

Key Results from Last Week

  • Sheridan and Campbell County split their series, with Sheridan winning the quadrant game 12-11, while Campbell County dominated the non-quadrant game 16-4.

  • Thunder Basin continued its dominance, defeating Sheridan 10-0 (quadrant game) and 13-2 (non-quadrant game).

  • Cheyenne East remained undefeated in quadrant play with wins over Green River (24-0) and Rock Springs (9-1).

  • Laramie and Wheatland battled in a tight matchup, with Wheatland winning both games (12-11 and 19-7).

  • Torrington edged out Cheyenne South in a close game (5-4) before a more decisive 15-0 win in their second matchup.

  • Several games were postponed due to weather, including Cheyenne East at Green River, Cheyenne Central at Rock Springs, and another Cheyenne East vs. Rock Springs game.

Sheridan’s next scheduled game is on Tuesday, April 1, when they host Cody in a key matchup. As quadrant play continues, teams will look to build momentum heading into the later stages of the season.
