Wyoming Inmate Dies at Medium Correctional Institution

The Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) has confirmed the death of Glenn Tanner (#31870), an inmate at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution (WMCI) in Torrington.

Tanner passed away on March 26, 2025.

Tanner, born January 7, 1959, in Worland, WY, was serving a 25- to 30-year sentence for first-degree sexual abuse of a minor under 13. He was convicted on May 9, 2018, in Goshen County and sentenced by Judge Patrick Korell, receiving 107 days of credit for time served.

In accordance with WDOC policy, an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. The department stated that protected health information will not be released.
