A large contingent of Wyoming high school wrestlers competed at the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) Wrestling Tournament in Virginia Beach over the weekend, WyoPreps reports.
The prestigious event drew nearly 6,000 wrestlers from across the country, and several Wyoming athletes delivered strong performances.
Sheridan’s Becca Oetken led the way for Wyoming’s female wrestlers, finishing fourth in the 185-pound weight class and earning All-American honors for the second consecutive year. The three-time Wyoming state champion posted a 4-2 record, narrowly falling 3-2 in the third-place match to Aaliyah Grammer of Missouri.

On the boys’ side, Dylan Sorensen of Kelly Walsh was Wyoming’s top performer, placing sixth in the senior division at 120 pounds and earning All-American status. Sorensen won his first four matches before losing in the fifth-place match to Zach Morse of Montana (6-2).
