A Tennessee man learned a hard lesson about online bravado after his social media taunts led to his arrest on Friday, Fox News reports.
Devon Bart, 25, who was wanted on a warrant related to a domestic assault, was apprehended by Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies after allegedly posting pictures challenging them to “come find him.”
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Bart took to a popular social media site, sharing images and messages that have since been removed. Deputies reported that Bart’s posts essentially dared authorities to locate and arrest him, claiming that if he was going to jail, they would have to find him first.
Chief Deputy Anthony Buckner addressed the situation in a post on the department’s Facebook page, stating, “We take all warrants and the law very seriously at the Sheriff’s Office.”
The challenge proved short-lived. Sheriff’s deputies located Bart and successfully arrested him without incident. He was subsequently booked into the Shelby County Jail.
The original warrant for Bart’s arrest stemmed from a domestic-related assault, as confirmed by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
