Wyoming Musicians Sought for Outdoor Acoustic Concert Series

Wyoming-based musicians have an opportunity to perform in scenic outdoor settings this summer as part of the Tunes on the Trail program, Oil City News reports.
Organized by the Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation, the Wyoming Arts Council, and Wyoming State Parks, the program will feature four unplugged concerts at state parks and historic sites across the state.
Now in its first year, Tunes on the Trail combines live acoustic performances with outdoor recreation, offering audiences a unique cultural experience in Wyoming’s natural landscapes. Selected artists will play 90-minute sets at one of four locations:
Keyhole State Park
Curt Gowdy State Park
Medicine Lodge State Archaeological Site
Edness K. Wilkins State Park
Each performance will be preceded by a hiking or outdoor activity, allowing attendees to connect with both nature and live music.
Four Wyoming-based musicians will be selected to perform, with each receiving a $550 stipend. Artists interested in applying can choose their preferred location and will have access to a reserved campsite for their stay.
Applications can be submitted via the Google interest form, with a deadline of May 2 at 11:59 p.m. More details are available on the Wyoming Arts Council website.
Tunes on the Trail is supported by the Wyoming State Parks and Cultural Resources’ Spark Tank and is part of the Wyoming Arts Council’s Independent Music Initiative (WIMI). The program helps Wyoming artists expand their audiences and gain performance experience while integrating arts, culture, and outdoor recreation.
