Lander to Host Wyoming Trout Unlimited Stewardship Conference from May 3-5

Wyoming Trout Unlimited (TU) will host its annual Stewardship Conference from May 3-5 at the Inn at Lander, providing an opportunity for local residents and visitors to learn more about the organization’s ongoing conservation efforts, WyoToday.com reports.
Wyoming TU, which has 12 local chapters spanning the state from Jackson to Cheyenne, works to preserve and enhance coldwater fisheries in Wyoming’s diverse ecosystems.
The conference is free and open to the public, and it aims to bring together conservationists, anglers, and community members to discuss important stewardship practices and current initiatives in the state. Ian McCreary, Wyoming Trout Unlimited’s State Coordinator, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating:
“This conference will bring together conservationists, anglers, and community members to discuss and learn about important stewardship practices in our state.”
The event will feature a variety of presentations and interactive workshops throughout the weekend. On Friday, attendees can participate in a fishing session led by members of the Popo Agie Anglers. The session will kick off with a brief meeting in the lobby of the Inn at Lander at 3 p.m.
Saturday’s agenda will include presentations on conservation efforts affecting major Wyoming rivers, including the Snake, Big Horn, Bear, Green, and North Platte Rivers. The day will also feature a panel discussion with guest speakers from the Wyoming Wildlife Foundation and Wyoming Outdoor Recreation, focusing on advocacy within the state’s conservation community.
The conference will wrap up on Sunday with a site visit to a local conservation project, led by the Popo Agie Anglers.
