As spring softball season continues across Wyoming, lingering winter weather has caused several postponements, reshaping team schedules and leaving many matchups to be rescheduled, Sheridan Media reports.

Despite the disruptions, teams across all four regional quadrants have made significant progress, with several establishing early leads in their respective standings.

Thunder Basin currently leads the quadrant with an unbeaten 3–0 record in regional play and a strong 13–2 overall showing. Sheridan, sitting at 1–1 in the quadrant and 6–5–1 overall, has key upcoming games, including a home matchup against Thunder Basin on Monday, April 21. Campbell County holds a 1–2 quadrant record but boasts an impressive 13–3 overall mark. Worland, at 0–2 in quadrant play, continues to look for traction this season.

Upcoming Sheridan Games:

  • April 21: vs. Thunder Basin (home)

  • April 25: at Campbell County

  • April 26: vs. Worland (home – rescheduled from earlier postponement)

Northwest Quadrant

Both Kelly Walsh and Cody sit at 1–0 in quadrant play. Kelly Walsh has maintained a balanced 6–6 overall record, while Cody, despite their 1–8 record, secured a key win over Jackson. Natrona County is 0–1 in quadrant play but remains competitive with a 5–7 overall tally. Jackson, still searching for their first win of the season, is 0–11 overall.

Several games in this quadrant were postponed due to weather, including matchups involving Cody, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, and Natrona County. Make-up dates are yet to be announced.

Southeast Quadrant

Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East are tied atop the quadrant standings at 2–1 each, with strong overall records of 13–4 and 13–1 respectively. Wheatland follows closely behind at 1–1 and 10–4 overall. Torrington remains winless in quadrant play (0–2) with a 6–9 overall record.

Notably, Cheyenne Central and Wheatland split their two recent games, with Wheatland winning the quadrant matchup and Central taking the non-quadrant game. The Cheyenne Central vs. Cheyenne East series also saw high-scoring games with each team earning a win.

Southwest Quadrant

The Southwest is tightly contested, with Laramie, Rock Springs, and Green River all holding 2–1 records in quadrant play. Laramie leads the group in overall wins with a 9–8 record, followed by Green River (6–9) and Rock Springs (5–11–1). Cheyenne South remains winless in the quadrant at 0–3 and is 1–10 overall.

Laramie’s dominant 17–1 win over Cheyenne South was among the week’s biggest scoring margins. Rock Springs and Green River also split their matchups, showing how competitive this quadrant remains.
