The University of Wyoming wrestling team has been selected to compete in the 2025 National Duals Invitational, scheduled for November 15–16 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, University of Wyoming Athletics reports.

The Cowboys were among five teams chosen via a lottery system to complete the 16-team field.

The top 12 teams in the 2025 NCAA Championships standings were automatically invited to the event, with 10 accepting their spots. Penn State and Penn declined their invitations. The remaining five positions were filled through a random draw involving teams that finished between 13th and 25th at the NCAA Championships. The selection odds were weighted based on final team rankings.

Wyoming, which finished 22nd at the 2025 NCAA Championships, was granted three entries in the lottery. The Cowboys were joined by Little Rock, Arizona State, Lehigh, and Missouri as the five lottery selections.

The full 16-team field includes:

  • Automatic qualifiers: Oklahoma State, NC State, Ohio State, Northern Iowa, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois, Minnesota, Cornell, and Virginia Tech

  • Lottery selections: Wyoming, Little Rock, Arizona State, Lehigh, and Missouri

The National Duals Invitational features a bracket-style format with significant financial incentives. The winning team will receive $200,000, with second and third place earning $150,000 and $75,000, respectively. Teams placing fifth through eighth will earn between $20,000 and $50,000, while all non-placing teams receive $20,000.
