Wheatland High School senior Dylan Nelson has signed a letter of intent to continue his golf career at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, WyoPreps reports.

The decision marks a significant step for Nelson, who has been a consistent presence in Wyoming high school golf throughout his four-year career.

Nelson capped off his senior season with a standout performance at the 2023 Class 3A state championships in Rawlins, where he tied for fourth place after posting a two-round score of 159. His efforts helped lead Wheatland to the team title—its sixth boys’ golf championship in school history and the first since 2016. Nelson also earned all-state honors for the first time in his career.

A four-year letter-winner, Nelson competed in the state tournament every year of high school. He placed 36th as a junior, contributing to Wheatland’s third-place team finish. He finished 25th as a sophomore and tied for 39th as a freshman.

Nelson will join former teammates Brecken Sandlian and Isaac CdeBaca, who have also committed to Central Wyoming College’s golf program.
