Wyoming’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased slightly in March, dropping from 3.5% to 3.4%, according to the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.

While the current rate is higher than it was at the same time last year—by roughly half a percentage point—it remains below the national average of 4.2%.

The department reported minimal changes in unemployment across most of the state’s counties between February and March. Thirteen counties experienced a decline in jobless rates, including Niobrara, Platte, and Park.

Counties with the lowest unemployment in March were Teton, Albany, and Johnson, each reporting rates near or below 3%.

When compared to one year ago, unemployment rates have increased in 17 counties, declined in four, and remained stable in Lincoln and Teton counties.
