A Wyoming woman was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in the early hours of April 26 near Lusk, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred around 12:55 a.m. on US Highway 85 near milepost 136 in Goshen County. The driver, identified as 47-year-old Heidi Borton, was traveling north when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Investigators say her vehicle initially left the road on the east shoulder. She then overcorrected, reentered the roadway, and veered off again on the west side.

Borton’s vehicle entered a ditch, causing it to roll several times before coming to rest on its roof.

Authorities noted that weather conditions at the time included rain and fog, and the road surface was wet.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
