The Wyoming Arts Council will host its initial committee meeting for the next installment of its Art in Public Buildings program, with the artwork slated for installation at Central Wyoming College’s new Jackson Outreach Campus, Oil City News reports.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 12 at 3 p.m. and will be conducted virtually. Members of the public are encouraged to listen in by calling +1 314-730-2044‬ and entering PIN: 344 650 994# at the prompt. While all callers will be muted during the session, those interested in providing public comment must contact Ismael Dominguez at [email protected] at least 24 hours in advance to make arrangements.

According to a release from the council, the meeting will provide an overview of the Art in Public Buildings program and give committee members the opportunity to discuss guidelines and expectations for the upcoming art installation.

Established in 1991, the Art in Public Buildings program sets aside a portion of capital construction funds to commission artworks specifically for public buildings across Wyoming. Since its inception, more than 200 works of public art have been placed throughout the state, enriching communities and offering accessible cultural experiences.

“Listening to Art in Public Buildings committee meetings is a great way to involve the wider constituency in our public art program process,” said Ismael Dominguez, program specialist at the Wyoming Arts Council. “The committee members always appreciate participating, and this is also an opportunity for artists to gain insight into the process.”
