Wyoming High School Track Teams Enter Final Week of Regular Season with Packed Competition Slate

Wyoming high school track and field teams are gearing up for their final tune-ups before regional championships, as Week 8 marks the last week of the regular season, WyoPreps reports.

From May 7–10, student-athletes across the state are set to compete in a flurry of meets after weather-related schedule shifts earlier in the week.

A total of 13 track and field events are being held in towns across Wyoming, including Arapahoe, Big Horn, Cody, Mountain View, Kemmerer, Pine Bluffs, Thermopolis, Sundance, Gillette, Jackson, Torrington, Lusk, and Lander. With postseason competition just around the corner, teams are looking to sharpen performances and finalize lineups.

Wednesday, May 7:

  • Arapahoe Charter Twilight Invite (Arapahoe): Arapahoe Charter, Ft. Washakie, Lander, Wind River.

  • Big Horn vs. Tongue River Dual (Big Horn): Big Horn, Sheridan, Tongue River.

Thursday, May 8:

  • Cody Trackstravaganza (Cody): Cody, Lovell, Powell.

  • Jeff Hereford Invitational (Mountain View): Evanston, Lyman, Mountain View.

  • Larry Rector Invitational (Kemmerer): Farson-Eden, Green River, Kemmerer.

  • Pine Bluffs Field Event Extravaganza (Pine Bluffs): Burns, Pine Bluffs, Torrington, Wheatland.

Friday, May 9:

  • Bobcat Track & Field Invitational (Thermopolis): Includes Big Piney, Burlington, Glenrock, Meeteetse, Thermopolis, and more.

  • Bulldog Invite (Sundance): Includes Wyoming and South Dakota teams such as Sundance, Wright, and Spearfish (SD).

  • Camel Qualifier (Gillette): Big Horn, Sheridan, Campbell County, Thunder Basin, and others.

  • Lynn Williams Memorial (Jackson): Cokeville, Jackson, Star Valley.

  • Wiseman Invite (Torrington): Cheyenne Central, Laramie, Torrington, and Gering (NE).

Saturday, May 10:

  • SEWAC Track Meet (Lusk): Guernsey-Sunrise, Lingle-Ft. Laramie, Lusk, Pine Bluffs.

  • Shane Brock Invitational (Lander): Lander, Cody, Riverton, Rock Springs, and others.

In addition, Natrona County will compete at the Black Hills Classic Invite in Sturgis, South Dakota.
