Regional High School Track & Field Meets Set Across Wyoming for May 16–17

High school athletes from across Wyoming are gearing up for regional track and field competitions scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 16–17, Casper Star-Tribune reports.

These meets will serve as qualifiers for the state championships and will be hosted at various locations depending on class and region.

Class 4A

  • East Region: Gillette will host athletes from Gillette, Thunder Basin, Sheridan, Laramie, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, and Cheyenne South.

  • West Region: Evanston will welcome teams from Evanston, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Rock Springs, Green River, Star Valley, Riverton, and Jackson.

Class 3A

  • East Region: Buffalo will host schools including Buffalo, Douglas, Wheatland, Glenrock, Newcastle, Burns, Torrington, and Rawlins.

  • West Region: Powell will be the site for teams from Powell, Cody, Worland, Lovell, Lander, Mountain View, Lyman, and Pinedale.

Class 2A

  • East Region: Torrington will host Pine Bluffs, Moorcroft, Sundance, Big Horn, Tongue River, and Wright.

  • West Region: Shoshoni will see participation from Shoshoni, Wind River, Wyoming Indian, St. Stephens, Thermopolis, Kemmerer, Big Piney, Rocky Mountain, and Greybull.

Class 1A

  • East Region: Also in Torrington, the 1A East meet includes Lingle-Fort Laramie, Lusk, Upton, Southeast, Hulett, Kaycee, Hanna, Rock River, Midwest, Arvada-Clearmont, and Guernsey.

  • West Region: Shoshoni will host 1A West teams from Cokeville, Saratoga, Burlington, Arapaho Charter, Fort Washakie, Dubois, Riverside, Encampment, Farson, Snake River, Ten Sleep, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy, and Meeteetse.
