Standout Performances Mark Wyoming High School Regional Track and Field Meets

High school athletes from across Wyoming delivered strong performances during the regional track and field competitions held Friday and Saturday, showcasing the state’s top talent in preparation for the upcoming state championships, Casper Star-Tribune reports.

In Class 4A West, Natrona County led both girls’ and boys’ team scores with 215.5 and 151.5 points respectively. The girls’ team dominated sprint events with standout efforts from Saige Gustafson and Miyah Robertson, who took top spots in the 100 and 400 meters. Natrona’s relay teams also swept the 4×100, 4×400, and 4×800 events. In field events, Brynn Sybrant and Kimmora Joseph added key points in shot put and long jump.

On the boys’ side, Cooper Cox of Natrona clocked a swift 10.92 in the 100 meters, while Gage Brooks and Landon Walker delivered notable jumps in long and triple jump, respectively. Evanston trailed closely behind with 136.5 points, led by Ayden Hartzell, who won the 200 and 400 meters, contributing to a 4×100 relay victory as well.

In Class 4A East, Sheridan swept both divisions, scoring 175 points in girls and 207.4 in boys. Thunder Basin and Cheyenne Central followed in both categories. Sheridan’s balanced performance across track and field events proved essential to its commanding lead.

Class 3A regional meets featured strong showings from Buffalo in the East, where the girls’ team posted 196.5 points and the boys earned 148. Douglas and Torrington rounded out the top teams. In the West, Lander’s girls led with 152 points, while Lovell boys took first with 163.5.

In Class 2A, Wright’s girls (178) and Big Horn’s boys (270) claimed dominance in the East, while Kemmerer girls (187) and Thermopolis boys (278.5) led in the West. Big Horn’s exceptional boys’ score was the highest recorded across all regions.

Class 1A meets saw Lingle-Fort Laramie top both divisions in the East, with 175 points for girls and 186 for boys. In the West, Burlington girls and boys both won their divisions, with the boys scoring a solid 197.
